Diffusers (the Vent)

Shown are the two types of diffusers we commonly use for our installations.  Both are painted white.

·         The step-down diffuser is the most commonly used when there is a single vent.  They are always used where truss spacing won't allow a flush mount diffuser.  The step-down diffuser has a slider plate to provide a dead air space during winter shutdown to prevent heat loss out of the vent.  They are quiet and efficient, providing 4 way directional air flow characteristics.  The step-down diffuser extends less than 2 inches below the ceiling.

·         The flush mount diffuser may be used when the truss spacing allows.  They are commonly used in multi-vent applications.  They are slightly noisier than the same size step down diffuser.  They provide single plane airflow directional characteristics.  They are of metal construction and have dampers to close them off in the winter.  They are attractive, extending about a quarter inch below the ceiling.
